Our amazing supporter, Morag Hockin has raised over £1500 this summer, thanks to the huge success of her pop up plant stall. With an extraordinary array of beautiful plants, Morag has inspired gardeners of all ages in Crowborough and Rotherfield. In recognition of her hard work, she was awarded a Wealden Hero Award by MP Nus Ghani.
And, as a result of Morag’s pledge, RSM will be able to take part in The Big Give, a national fundraising initiative that doubles donations made to qualifying charities. The Big Give will run between midday 1st Dec and 8th Dec 2020. Funds raised will be used by RSM to continue to prevent isolation and loneliness in our community.
Morag was inspired to fund raise after her father, Derek Rich, joined RSM. Despite being wheelchair bound, Derek enjoyed hydrotherapy, craft classes, visits to the seaside and of course making friends. Sadly, Derek is no longer with us, but Morag says he was so happy at the end of his life and that inspired the annual pop up plant stall to raise funds for RSM. We couldn’t be more grateful.
