On Thursday 8th May 2025 we were delighted to be involved in village-wide commemorations and the celebration of the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe following the second world war.
The day started at the recreation ground where the Union Jack was raised, prayers were said and the school children sang.
At lunchtime we enjoyed a traditional fish & chip lunch with mushy peas, shandy and a home made orange sponge and custard pudding.
And in the evening the village came together once again to see the lighting of the Beacon followed by an amazing fireworks display organised by our Bonfire Society.
