Rotherfield St Martin Marks National Dementia Week with Community Events

Rotherfield St Martin is set to host a series of engaging and educational events during National Dementia Week, taking place from 18th–22nd May 2026, highlighting the importance of understanding, supporting and connecting with those living with dementia and their carers.

Summary of Events

Mon 18th May 26 – Shake, Rattle & Roll – 2pm-4pm, Rotherfield Village Hall
Tues 19th May 26 – Dementia Bus Immersive Experience
Thur 21st May 26 – Forget Me Not activity with Rotherfield Village School Students
Fri 22nd May 26 – Time To Talk Meeting for Unpaid Carers and Loved Ones

The week-long program begins on Monday 18th May with “Shake, Rattle & Roll”, a lively afternoon dance event featuring a DJ and classic hits from the 1950s, 60s and 70s. The session aims to bring people together through music, movement and nostalgia, celebrating the positive impact music can have on wellbeing and memory.

On Tuesday 19th May we will be welcoming the Virtual Dementia Tour bus back to Rotherfield. Invited carers, volunteers & community members will experience first hand what it may feel like to live with dementia.
